Change of Web Address
Duke St Community House have been redesigning and updating their web page to take advantage of the interactive abilities of Web 2.0. As part of this redesign we have changed our web address to make it easier to remember. We have changed it from dukestcommunityhouse.org to www.dsch.org.au Some people have been getting a bit confused with the new email address because when they type in the new web address they leave out the .au on the end. If you leave out the .au on the end you will get to a Chinese church page!Read more
Community Kitchen Café
The Community Kitchen Café is a joint project between Sunshine Presbyterian Church and Duke Street Community House. The project came about through a desire by both organisations to connect with people who live in our local community including those who are socially isolated or are new to Brimbank. The café is staffed by a team of volunteers who prepare and serve the meals. These volunteers have completed an accredited food safety course and are also involved in tasks such as shopping, menu planning and other general kitchen duties.Read more
Our Very Own Citizen of the Year!
On the 26th of January 2009, Bronwen Merrigan of Duke St Community House was awarded Brimbank’s highest honor: Citizen of the Year. Hundreds of people including Bill Shorten Parliamentary Secretary, Brimbank Mayor and Telmo Languiller attended a glittering Australia day ceremony at Sunshine Marketplace Shopping Centre to both bestow Australian citizenships to new citizens and to announce Bronwen Merrigan’s Citizen of the Year Award.
